Technical and Non-Fiction Writing
I find making complicated information easy to understand and writing instructions that are easy to follow fascinating. Plain language is a particular interest of mine. The goal of plain language is to write in a way that ensures the largest possible audience understands the information being presented. This is especially important in any public space that is intended to be used by all ages and abilities which appeals to my librarian senses.
Technical and instructional writing meshes well with my passion for crafts and hobbies, especially traditional ones that are rarely practiced anymore. This booklet details the rules for five of my favorite classic games. My goal with this booklet was to write easy-to-follow instructions for classic games with rules that can be overwhelmingly complicated for a new player.
